The Story Behind DiabeticStep
Hello, and welcome to DiabeticStep.
My name is A K AZAD, and I am the founder of this website. I created DiabeticStep because diabetes has been a part of my life for more than 20 years.
I am now 56 years old, and over the past two decades I have learned that living with diabetes is not only about checking blood sugar or taking medication. It is about making careful choices every day—what we eat, how active we are, how we care for our feet, and how we respond to the challenges that diabetes can bring.
I started DiabeticStep with one simple goal:
To share practical information that may help other people with diabetes make better, more informed choices in their everyday lives.
My Journey With Diabetes
When I was first diagnosed with diabetes, I had many of the same questions that many people have today.
What foods are best?
How much exercise is safe?
How should I take care of my feet?
Which shoes are comfortable?
Which products are actually useful, and which ones are mostly marketing?
Over the years, I have continued to learn through my own experience, discussions with healthcare professionals, reading reliable health information, and paying attention to the everyday habits that make living with diabetes more manageable.
I have also learned that diabetes affects every person differently. What works well for one person may not work the same way for another. That is why I believe good diabetes information should be practical, balanced, and honest.
Why I Created DiabeticStep
I created DiabeticStep because I wanted to build the kind of website that I would have found helpful during my own journey.
Many websites either use complicated medical language or focus almost entirely on selling products. I wanted DiabeticStep to be different.
Here, my goal is to provide information that is:
- Easy to understand
- Practical for everyday life
- Based on personal experience and reliable sources
- Honest about both benefits and limitations
- Helpful for people who want to learn more about living with diabetes
The site focuses especially on topics that many people with diabetes deal with every day, including:
- Diabetic foot care
- Diabetic shoes and socks
- Neuropathy and foot protection
- Safe exercise and staying active
- Product reviews and buying guides
- Everyday diabetes lifestyle tips
What I Believe
After living with diabetes for more than two decades, I have come to believe that managing diabetes is often about small, consistent steps rather than dramatic changes.
A regular walk.
Checking your feet.
Choosing comfortable shoes.
Learning more about your condition.
Following your healthcare provider’s advice.
These small habits can become part of a healthier daily routine.
That belief is the inspiration behind the name DiabeticStep—taking one practical step at a time.
My Approach to Product Reviews
DiabeticStep also includes product reviews and buying guides.
When I write about products, my goal is not simply to recommend the most expensive item or the one with the biggest marketing campaign. Instead, I try to focus on practical questions such as:
- Who is this product best suited for?
- What features are useful?
- What are its limitations?
- Is it comfortable and practical for everyday use?
- Does it offer reasonable value?
If I have not personally used a product, I do not claim that I have. In those cases, I base my review on available product information, manufacturer specifications, and other reliable sources.
I believe readers deserve honest and transparent information.
A Note About Medical Advice
I am not a doctor, nurse, or medical professional.
DiabeticStep is based on my personal experience of living with diabetes for more than 20 years, together with information gathered from reliable health sources.
The information on this website is intended for educational purposes only and should not replace advice from your doctor or other qualified healthcare professional. Every person’s health situation is different, so medical decisions should always be discussed with an appropriate healthcare provider.
Thank You for Visiting

I created DiabeticStep in the hope that the information shared here will be useful to others who are also living with diabetes, as well as to their families and caregivers.
Thank you for visiting DiabeticStep and for taking the time to read my story.
I hope the website helps you find practical information that supports your own journey—one step at a time.
